The RVT provides hill holding without using the brakes. Heavy duty trucks and buses with an RVT can creep in a speed controlled way independently of the slope (uphill, downhill or irregular) and without overheating for an unlimited period of time which is very practical for city buses or garbage vans in dense traffic and hilly areas.

All thinkable safety features detecting any malfunction in the whole driveline will immediately keep the vehicle driving in a degraded but safe mode as long as the malfunction exists.

Before starting up the engine or E-motor, the transmission controller makes an immediate self-diagnosis of all transmission functions.
